University social responsibility: a theoretical review

Abstract

This research work aims to outline a conceptual approach to university social responsibility is linked to the work of university life that goes beyond the simple fact of creating policies and programs for community benefit. Its scope exceeds the philanthropic aspect and social projection is linked to the mission and nature of the university. A deep analysis remains with the simplest and natural purpose of transforming society since the university is an agent of knowledge, research, and practice. The university through labor, environmental and academic aspects can have a significant impact on society. The development of curricular plans and the implementation as part of the development of skills in students ensure that future professionals are expedited with a degree of human sensitivity attending social problems with a projection of sustainable and environmental welfare.
