Abstract

The objective of this research was to validate the causal relations between the components of the organizational culture and the components of the knowledge management of the teachers of the faculties of the Universidad Peruana Unión in its three fields: Lima, Juliaca, and Tarapoto. The research has a quantitative approach and is of a causal explanatory type, the research design is non-experimental cross-sectional. The sample consisted of 416 teachers from Lima headquarters and subsidiaries in Juliaca and Tarapoto. For the measurement of the organizational culture variable, the Denison instrument was used, which consists of 4 dimensions: involvement, consistency, adaptability, and mission, with a total of 60 items, and for the knowledge management variable the Albacete instrument, Consisting of 3 dimensions: creation, accumulation, and transfer of 15 items, the reliability analysis according to Cronbach's Alpha resulted in 0.984 and 0.962 respectively. The results that were obtained through a system of structural equations, show the goodness of fit of both theoretical models with a pvalue> 0.05, in addition to the acceptance of the hypotheses raised, the significant effect was found among the predictors of the organizational culture in knowledge management, the mission had a greater effect with a coefficient of 0.408, followed by the implication with a coefficient of 0.396, then the adaptability with a coefficient of 0.312 and finally, the consistency with a coefficient of 0.154. What determines that mission and involvement are strong factors in knowledge management, and adaptability and consistency are factors that still need to be improved. Concluding that, the organizational culture as a set of beliefs, values ​​, and practices that identify the institution and guide the action towards the achievement of the objectives and goals; It affects the process of knowledge management measured in the creation, dissemination, and application of the knowledge of the teaching staff of the university in its three fields together.
