Abstract

The present research study aims to determine the level of perception of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the clients of Sodimac in Santa Anita, Lima, Peru. This study used a descriptive non-experimental cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 79 customers who bought a product in the store. A CSR instrument was used, consisting of the following dimensions: economic responsibility, legal responsibility, ethical responsibility and philanthropic responsibility, with an acceptable internal consistency of α = 0.929 and a KMO of 0.6 (0.913), which indicates that the correlations on the items have enough force to extract factors and in turn determine that the instrument is valid. To obtain the results, statistics of central measure were applied. Regarding the demographic characteristics of the clients, it was found that the majority were male and ranged between 31 and 35 years of age. Both social responsibility and its dimensions were perceived at a moderate level, which implies that clients see corporate social responsibility as necessary to improve the organizational climate and help in the construction of a better society; voluntarily focusing on its stakeholders with selfless actions, in search of a common good.
